To get started, you’ll complete an online medical intake form to gather information for the healthcare provider about your lifestyle, health habits, and medical history. Once you’ve completed your intake, our system will match you with a US-licensed medical provider who will review your unique medical history to see if your preferred treatment is right for you. Depending on your state, we may require a video consultation with one of our providers prior to approving your prescription.

If the provider determines that a prescription is appropriate for your unique medical history, we will work with one of our certified pharmacy partners to start your order. Allowing for a few days to ensure quality control, your prescription will be delivered to the address you provided in discreet packaging, free of charge.

If your provider has any concerns your requested prescription is not appropriate for you, they will work with you to find an alternative that’s a better fit for your unique medical background.

Unlike other telemedicine services, our medical support doesn’t stop after your purchase. Each member has continuous access to their provider and member support team, completely online to align with your schedule, with recurring check-ins to help you see your progress.

Every pharmacy we work with is a licensed 503A or 503B compounding pharmacy, meaning all compounding is overseen by licensed pharmacists with compounding-specific training. All compounding takes place at a licensed pharmacy, complies with state boards, receives a valid Certificate of Analysis (COA), and is made at a FDA-registered facility.

All compounding products are produced in compliance with United States Pharmacopeia (USP) chapters or the National Formulary (NF) monograph to ensure member safety and maintain drug quality and purity.

Most compounding pharmacies also function as a standard retail pharmacy. Some of the prescriptions we currently offer are only available through custom compounding (for example NAD+), whereas Metformin is a commercially available medication and does not need compounding. Our pharmacy partners source Metformin from the same manufacturers and wholesalers as all other pharmacies in the US, such as Walgreens or CVS.

Some states require people to book a video consultation with the provider before a prescription can be approved. If you live in a state that requires a video consultation, we will email you a link to select a date and time most convenient for you. However, any member can request a video consultation, and providers may request that you complete a video consultation at their discretion.

Video consultations are 100% online and provided at no additional cost. Each consultation is brief, lasting only 5-10 minutes.

Please note that you will not be charged for your prescription until you are approved. If you live in a state that requires a video consultation, you will not be approved or charged until you schedule and complete a video consultation.

Yes! Each member has on-demand, continuous access to their provider and member support team, with recurring check-ins to help you see your progress. Your support team is also trained to provide personalized assistance across multiple, convenient communication channels including email, phone, and your secure patient portal.

We reply to 100% of messages, negative or positive, even if you aren’t a current member, to give you any information you need to make the best decision for you. Plus, all our employees are trained to always protect your privacy.

You are free to cancel, postpone, or pause your subscription at any time (and for any reason) prior to your next refill date. If at all possible, we kindly ask for a minimum of 48 hours notice before your next order is set to process.

AgelessRx cannot guarantee refunds for any cancellation requests received after our pharmacy partner has received your order. Furthermore, AgelessRx does not accept returns nor can we offer any refunds for any prescription product once it has left our pharmacy partner.

While we would love to support our members worldwide, at this time, we are only able to support people living in and residing at a US-based residential address.

Injections have better bioavailability than oral supplements as they bypass the digestive system completely, providing a direct supply of B12 into the bloodstream to fuel your body. Oral supplements might work for some, however, as we age, our ability to break down oral supplements often decreases.

The most common side effect of B12 injections is irritation at the injection site. If this occurs, consider changing placement on the body, or talk with your provider about using injections less often.

Rarer side effects may include headache, flushing, anxiety or jitteriness, and acne.

Do not use B12 injections if you are currently pregnant, breastfeeding or plan to become pregnant or breastfeed.

B12/MIC provides the same great vitamin supplementation as B12 injections, but with a few added benefits. MIC (methionine, inositol, and choline) is a blend of lipotropic compounds that support fat metabolism. When combined with MIC, the metabolism-supporting principles of the injection are amplified, enhancing the body’s ability to break through weight loss stagnation.

Most side effects of B12/MIC are generally mild in nature and dissipate within a short time frame following administration. Common side effects may include pain, redness or itching at the injection site. You may also experience occasional GI upset, headache, flushing, or jitteriness.

If irritation continues to occur, apply an over-the-counter itch cream, or talk to your provider if symptoms persist for several weeks or become intolerable.

Every body is different. Depending on your weight loss goals, lifestyle choices, and any underlying medical conditions, the results you see on the scale may vary. B12/MIC should be used in combination with diet and exercise to maximize results.

All B12/MIC injections are only available as intramuscular injections.

Subcutaneous injections deliver medication into the layer of tissue just below the skin, while intramuscular injections go one layer deeper, directly into the muscle.

Subcutaneous B12/MIC injections may be associated with an increased risk for irritations and reactions at the injection site. As such, our pharmacy partners only provide standard intramuscular injections.

Methylene Blue belongs to a class of medications known as oxidation-reduction agents. It is a metabolic enhancer with antioxidant, antimicrobial, and neuroprotective properties, considered the first synthetic drug used in medicine. 

Methylene Blue is FDA-approved for the treatment of methemoglobinemia, a rare blood disorder. A growing body of research also suggests it may support mitochondrial function, reduce oxidative stress, and enhance cognitive performance, including focus and healthy brain aging.

Methylene Blue has been studied for its potential to support healthy aging and cognitive function, with a wide range of potential longevity benefits.

For cognitive support and memory enhancement, Methylene Blue may help maintain brain health by improving memory, focus, and overall cognitive function. Methylene Blue also enhances mitochondrial efficiency and increases ATP production, which may improve energy while reducing fatigue and brain fog. Methylene Blue also offers anti-inflammatory support, regulating inflammatory pathways that cause inflammation in the brain by reducing cellular stress from mitochondrial dysfunction. Through neuroprotection and healthy brain aging, Methylene Blue may slow cognitive decline by improving mitochondrial function and enhancing blood flow to the brain, helping protect against age-related diseases.

Methylene Blue is both fat soluble and water soluble, allowing it to cross the blood-brain barrier and freely enter cells and inner structures, including mitochondria. Our mitochondria produce ATP, which acts as fuel for the brain to repair, grow, and keep you operating at optimal energy.

But part of what makes Methylene Blue unique is that research suggests it may help restore damaged mitochondria. When Methylene Blue gets into damaged mitochondria, it optimizes the movement of electrons, increases ATP production in the mitochondria, and reduces oxidative stress, giving our neurons plenty of energy to keep everything tip-top in the brain.

The result is that Methylene Blue may support cognitive health while helping to support mitochondrial energy and cellular health and reduce age-related damage from free radicals.

The most common side effects of Methylene Blue include blue urine, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, and loss of appetite.

Blue urine is a normal reaction to Methylene Blue and is not cause for concern. If you notice that your urine is blue after taking Methylene Blue, wait until your urine clears before taking another dose. Feces, saliva, and sweat may also be temporarily discolored with a blue tint. Most people clear the medication from their system within 4-6 hours, or up to 24 hours.

Most side effects are mild and go away on their own within a week or two. Taking Methylene Blue with a full glass of water and a meal may help minimize the chances of side effects.

Some people may also notice anxiety or insomnia, mild urinary irritation, or hypersensitivity to UV (sun) exposure. To minimize the risk of these side effects, take Methylene Blue in the morning, drink plenty of water, and be mindful when spending time outside, especially during peak sun hours.

Methylene Blue should not be used by those with G6PD sensitivity. People who have or are at risk of renal dysfunction should check with their provider to see if taking Methylene Blue is safe and appropriate.

If you are currently taking antidepressants like SSRIs or MAOIs, you should not use Methylene Blue. This includes Trazodone, a mild SARI (serotonin antagonist and reuptake inhibitor) that may interact with Methylene Blue. Please inform your provider of all medications you are taking, including supplements and over-the-counter medications. Methylene Blue is not recommended for people under 18 years old or for people with kidney, liver, or cardiovascular disease. It is also not recommended for those taking antidepressants like SSRIs, SNRIs, or MAOIs.

Please note that Trazodone is a mild SARI (serotonin antagonist and reuptake inhibitor) that may interact with Methylene Blue. If you are a member who is currently taking Trazodone, do not take Methylene Blue.

Most medications are safe to use with Methylene Blue, including most AgelessRx products. The only exception is Trazodone, a mild SARI (serotonin antagonist and reuptake inhibitor) that may interact with Methylene Blue. If you are a member who is currently taking Trazodone, do not take Methylene Blue.

You should always tell your provider of all medications you’re taking before getting started with Methylene Blue, especially those for G6PD deficiency or those that affect your serotonin levels.

Your provider will only recommend a Methylene Blue prescription if they feel it is safe and appropriate for you. Please review the full list of possible drug interactions with Methylene Blue before requesting a prescription.

Methylene Blue capsules allow for simple, precise dosing so you can get consistent results. Our capsules are prepared by licensed, US-based pharmacy partners. Capsules also remove the risk of teeth or tongue staining and limit the bitter taste of Methylene Blue solution.

Liraglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist that is often sold as Saxenda (for weight loss) and Victoza (for diabetes). It helps regulate blood sugar, appetite, and digestion by mimicking the natural GLP-1 hormone. Brand-name versions of Liraglutide are FDA approved for weight management (Saxenda®) and the treatment of type 2 diabetes (Victoza®). Compounded Liraglutide has not been reviewed or approved by the FDA for safety, efficacy, or quality.

Liraglutide works by mimicking the natural hunger hormone, GLP-1, which plays a key role in regulating blood sugar and appetite. 

Liraglutide is designed to be as biochemically similar to the GLP-1 hormone as possible. The main difference is that it has a longer half-life. This allows the effects of the GLP-1 hormone to last longer in the body, helping to slow digestion and suppress cravings so you feel fuller for longer.

The most common side effects of Compounded Liraglutide are gastrointestinal issues such as nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. These normally go away on their own within a few days, or up to 2-3 weeks, and many members develop a tolerance to these side effects. You can help prevent or ease these side effects by eating slower and at more regular intervals throughout the day, taking Compounded Liraglutide at the same time of day, drinking only water or clear, unsweetened beverages, and avoiding fried, greasy foods in favor of healthier, low-fat options.

Compounded Liraglutide is a daily medication, unlike many GLP-1 medications that are taken weekly. You can take Compounded Liraglutide with or without food, at any time of day or night. For the best results, try to take it around the same time each day.

For the best results, consider a reduced-calorie meal plan and increased physical activity while taking Compounded Liraglutide. If you already have a diet and exercise plan, great! If not, talk to your AgelessRx provider about a diet and exercise plan that works for you. 

A well-balanced diet with fresh fruits and vegetables and high-quality protein sources is key. Resistance training also helps to maintain your body composition and muscle, but any exercise is a step in the right direction, as long as you exercise for about 150 minutes each week.

Compounded Semaglutide is a semaglutide-based medication compounded by our partner pharmacies to address the ongoing national Semaglutide shortage so people unable to access semaglutide-based medications while they remain on the FDA’s Drug Shortage List can avoid lapse in treatment. Compounded Semaglutide has not been reviewed or approved by the FDA for safety, efficacy, or quality.

Compounded Semaglutide has not been reviewed by the FDA*, but our members report the following side effects: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and constipation. Microdosing GLP-1 is a low-dose therapy using compounded Injectable GLP-1 in small, gradual doses to help optimize health and longevity benefits while minimizing side effects.

Microdosing is the medical practice of administering very small doses of a drug, often to provide dose-specific benefits that might be different than the regular dose, while minimizing side effects.

Our medical experts expect that, by microdosing with GLP-1 medications, people could optimize the longevity benefits of GLP-1 with a lower risk of side effects. Clinical trials are underway to try to confirm these benefits.

Unlike higher doses of Semaglutide that are typically prescribed for diabetes or weight loss, Microdosing GLP-1 focuses on broader health and longevity benefits with reduced side effects.

The first difference is a lower dose. Microdosing GLP-1 is prescribed at very low doses, starting at about half the usual starting dose up to about ⅕ the full dose. The second is precision health benefits. Evidence suggests that microdosing could unlock longevity benefits like improved immunity¹, heart health², and cognitive function³. Clinical trials are underway to try to confirm these benefits. The third is reduced side effects. With lower doses also comes a potentially lower risk of side effects. If you do experience side effects, they’re more likely to be brief and mild.

Low doses of GLP-1 medications have been shown to have several benefits. They may modulate inflammatory pathways¹ and may reduce risk of cognitive decline². They may also support cardiovascular health³ and may improve mitochondrial function and oxidative stress².

Low doses may also reduce side effects.

Microdosing GLP-1 is not intended as a weight loss treatment. Some people may achieve weight loss, but at low doses, any weight loss benefits are expected to be mild, if any at all. But don’t worry! If weight loss is your main goal, we have science-backed weight loss solutions that may be a better fit for you.

Microdosing GLP-1 is a low-dose GLP-1 prescription, which our experts expect may result in lower risk and severity of potential side effects than full-dose Semaglutide.

Injectable GLP-1 has not been evaluated by the FDA, but side effects are expected to be similar to other GLP-1 based medications reviewed by the FDA, which have the following side effects: nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal (stomach) pain, headache, fatigue, dyspepsia (indigestion), dizziness, abdominal distension, eructation (belching), hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) in people with type 2 diabetes, flatulence (gas buildup), gastroenteritis (an intestinal infection), and gastroesophageal reflux disease (a type of digestive disorder).

Common side effects normally go away on their own within a few days or up to 2-3 weeks. If you find that any side effects persist for longer than this or get worse over time, stop taking your medication and contact your provider as soon as possible.

Tirzepatide may make oral contraceptives less effective. If you’re taking an oral contraceptive, ask your provider about potential alternatives before starting Compounded Tirzepatide + Glycine, or switch to a non-oral contraceptive.

Wegovy® is a once-weekly injectable medication or daily oral tablet that is FDA approved to support weight loss in adults with a BMI of 30 or more, or adults with a BMI of 27 or more with a weight-related health condition. Wegovy® contains Semaglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist that helps regulate appetite, blood sugar, and digestion.

Wegovy® works by imitating the natural GLP-1 hormone in the body that helps manage blood sugar and appetite. GLP-1 helps block glucagon, a hormone that increases blood sugar, and stimulates insulin release from the pancreas after you eat. By mimicking this gut hormone, Wegovy® slows down digestion and helps us feel fuller for longer.

The first thing you can do is calculate your BMI.

Wegovy® is FDA approved to treat weight loss in adults with a BMI of 30 or greater, or adults with a BMI of 27 or greater who also have at least one weight-related medical issue.

However, each potential Wegovy® candidate will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and approval is not guaranteed based on these criteria: your provider needs a full picture of your unique health profile to understand whether Wegovy® treatment is appropriate.

Those with BMIs below 25 will not be approved for Wegovy® treatment with AgelessRx, unless there is previous usage and treatment is for maintenance.

While Wegovy® is FDA approved for ages 12 and older, we do not treat children. Our services are for adults only.

Your Body Mass Index, or BMI, is a simple rule of thumb used by healthcare providers around the world to broadly categorize a healthy spectrum of height and weight differentials.

To calculate your BMI, divide your total weight by the square of your height, or use this BMI calculator. For most adults, a healthy BMI range is 18.5 to 24.9. A BMI of 25 to 30 is considered overweight, and a BMI above 30 is considered obese: Class 1 (30-34.9), Class 2 (35-39.9), and Class 3 (severe, 40+).

In a 68-week medical study of 1,961 adults living with obesity or excess weight with a related medical problem, adults lost ~35 lbs (or ~15% body weight) with Wegovy® injections. People taking placebo lost an average of 6 lbs (or ~2.5% body weight). The average starting weight for both groups was ~232 lbs.**

In a 64-week medical study, 1 in 4 adults lost 20% of body weight (~47 pounds) with the Wegovy® pill among 307 adults living with obesity or with overweight and at least one weight-related medical problem were studied. All participants were instructed to follow a reduced-calorie diet and increase their physical activity. 

**Results are from a 68-week medical study of adults with obesity (BMI ≥30) and adults with excess weight (BMI ≥27) who also had weight-related medical problems.

People respond to medicines differently, so there is no set time for when you can expect to see results with Wegovy^®. Ask your health care provider about what might be a realistic expectation for you.

We offer access to a prescription consultation for Wegovy® pens and oral tablets through NovoCare or Amazon Pharmacy, along with ongoing health monitoring and guidance if approved for a prescription. 

To get started, submit your medical intake to an AgelessRx provider, who will review your unique medical history and health goals to determine if Wegovy® is right for you. If approved, your AgelessRx provider will refer your prescription to the appropriate partner. 

From there, you will receive text messages from NovoCare or Amazon Pharmacy who will help you complete your Wegovy® order and provide payment directly to them. 

Please note, AgelessRx does not assist in any insurance coverage authorizations. 

Once you’ve created your account, you’ll be prompted to pay for your Wegovy® prescription. AgelessRx only provides a consultation to consider your Wegovy® prescription request, as well as ongoing healthcare monitoring for the duration of your prescription, if approved. The cost of the medication is separate and completed with NovoCare or Amazon Pharmacy. You will not receive your Wegovy® delivery until you complete payment with NovoCare or Amazon Pharmacy.

That depends on the Acarbose protocol for which you’re approved: Acarbose (1 Meal/Day), Acarbose (2 Meals/Day), and Acarbose (As Needed). Acarbose specifically inhibits amylose, or starch, from being broken down into sugar. It doesn’t work to inhibit sugary carbs.

Examples of starchy carbs include grains, including rice, corn, wheat, rye, quinoa, millet, oats, barley, and any foods made from them (oatmeal, pasta, bread, cereal, pizza, pastries, etc.). Other starchy carbs include beets, carrots, turnips, potatoes (including sweet potatoes), yams, and peas.

Examples of sugary carbs include fruit juice, sports drinks, candies, honey, jams/jellies, any syrup, soda, table sugar, and brown sugar.

If you’re unsure which dosage is right for you, the best plan is to discuss your options with your provider. But, here are a few things to consider before you do.

First, how often do you eat starchy carbs? Those who enjoy the occasional indulgence may find taking Acarbose As Needed to be more beneficial. If, on the other hand, starchy carbs like rice, potatoes, wheat, or pasta are part of at least one of your meals each day, then you might want to consider one of our Acarbose Daily plans.

Second, decide whether your goals are short term or long term. Are you looking to reduce your risk for heart disease or stroke, or even further optimize your healthspan? If so, then one of our Acarbose Daily plans might best match your goals. But if you’re just looking to avoid crashes, headaches, or other more immediate aftereffects of sugar spikes, then perhaps a less substantial subscription is appropriate.

Finally, be honest with yourself and set realistic expectations. If you’re not ready to add a whole new treatment to your regimen, you can still casually reduce your risk with Acarbose As Needed, which is part of the reason why we designed multiple protocols.

The short answer is absolutely yes. Acarbose is an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor, meaning that it specifically acts on enzymes that break down starches. This only makes it more difficult for our bodies to absorb starch, delaying the digestion of carbohydrates. There is no evidence to suggest that Acarbose prevents the body from absorbing other nutritional components of foods.

SGLT2 Inhibitors like Invokana® (Canagliflozin) and Brenzavvy® (Bexagliflozin) are medications that help the body get rid of excess sugar before it can do long-term damage. Both Invokana® and Brenzavvy® are FDA approved for treatment of type 2 diabetes, but emerging research suggests they may also have extended longevity benefits, such as reduced risk of heart disease, improved kidney and liver health, better cognitive function, and moderate weight loss.

SGLT2 Inhibitors work by flushing excess sugar from the body through urine. They do this by blocking sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2), a protein that reabsorbs sugar from urine back into the bloodstream. By blocking SGLT2, medications like Invokana® and Brenzavvy® allow the body to remove up to 50-80g of glucose per day. By reducing excess glucose, SGLT2 Inhibitors may help people maintain stable blood sugar, which can mimic some benefits of caloric restriction.

Studies show SGLT2 Inhibitors may have several benefits. They have been shown to extend lifespan in mice, and they may reduce inflammation and oxidative stress. They may also lower HbA1c, improve cardiovascular health and kidney health, and lower the risk of dementia and Parkinson’s. In addition, they may help clear senescent cells and encourage moderate weight loss.

Though both Invokana® (Canagliflozin) and Brenzavvy® (Bexagliflozin) work in the same way, Invokana® has more years of research supporting its potential benefits, while Brenzavvy® is a relatively new SGLT2 that may show similar longevity benefits. The best results for each may occur in combination with a reduced-calorie diet and regular exercise.

Both Invokana® and Brenzavvy® are SGLT2 Inhibitors that work the same way. The only difference is that Invokana® has an extended range of FDA-approved uses: while Brenzavvy® is FDA approved for type 2 diabetes treatment, Invokana® is approved for treating type 2 diabetes and to reduce the risk of heart and kidney disease.

Invokana® has also been patented since 2013, with a wealth of scientific studies to support its extended uses. Though Brenzavvy® is a relatively new SGLT2 (FDA approved in 2023), it still shares the same mechanism of action and may show similar longevity benefits as research continues.

The most common side effects of SGLT2 Inhibitors include increased urination, dehydration, hypotension (low blood pressure), dizziness, urinary tract infections (UTIs), and genital mycotic infections (yeast infections). Increased urination is a normal side effect of SGLT2 Inhibitors and not cause for concern. 

UTIs and yeast infections are among the most frequently reported side effects of SGLT2 Inhibitors. To reduce the risk of these and other side effects, drink plenty of water throughout the day (around 0.5 to 1 gallon) and follow proper genital hygiene practices. If you experience a UTI or yeast infection, you must seek treatment with your primary healthcare provider or a local urgent care clinic.

If you notice side effects other than increased urination, it’s okay to stop taking the medication until side effects clear, usually after a few days and up to a few weeks. Always let your care team know if you stop your medication so they can adjust your upcoming refills if necessary.

Serious side effects include euglycemic diabetic ketoacidosis (eDKA), Fournier’s gangrene, and acute kidney injury. These side effects typically occur in people with diabetes or compromised kidney function. Please tell your provider if you or anyone in your family has diabetes or compromised kidney function, or any other medical condition. AgelessRx does not manage or treat diabetes.

Most people will notice a lift in energy within an hour or two of injection. Please note you should not use Glutathione Injections (0.5ml per injection) more than 5x per week.

Glutathione is essential for many functions, including cellular rejuvenation and repair. You may or may not feel an immediately noticeable effect of better DNA repair; most of our members who use the Glutathione Patches report some of the following benefits: improved energy, mental clarity, and faster recovery from illness and injury.

It is important to note the above benefits are not seen in all people. As long as instructions for application are properly followed, the GSH will be absorbed into the body regardless of whether a person feels it or not, helping to support higher GSH levels. Atorvastatin is a member of a class of prescription medications called ‘statins’ that work to reduce the amount of cholesterol in your liver and help remove cholesterol already in the blood. As a result, it helps to lower your overall cholesterol levels.

Generally, Atorvastatin is safe to take long term, and, according to some experts, actually works best when taken over a long period of time.

Yes, you will be asked to complete a blood draw within 90 days of receiving your first fulfillment, then annually thereafter. While blood draw requisitions are included with your subscription, any valid labs completed within the prior 6 months can also be considered at the discretion of your assigned medical professional.

The point of taking statin medication is to lower cholesterol levels and prevent accumulation of cholesterol in the arteries, thereby reducing risk of heart disease. Ask your provider if Atorvastatin is right for you.

Atorvastatin is simply the generic version of Lipitor.

In most cases, Telmisartan can help to lower blood pressure within about two weeks. It often requires about four weeks to get the full effects of lowering blood pressure. However, everybody is different and it may take more or less time.

We offer 20mg tablets of Telmisartan. We only offer Telmisartan with a quarterly plan, supplying 90 daily doses per quarter (1 tablet daily, or as prescribed).

Naltrexone binds to opioid receptors, which are found all over the body including immune cells. In doing so, it displaces the endorphins which would normally stay bound to these receptors. By binding to the opioid receptors, it displaces the body’s naturally produced Opioid Growth Factor. When using naltrexone at a low dose (hence LDN), the binding is temporary and causes the body to then up-regulate or increase the opioid receptors, thereby restoring the endorphin system and balancing the immune system.

Yes! Studies have shown that LDN is not only safe to take for individuals with a compromised immune system, but that it may actually help to improve the ability of the immune system to function. Individuals with autoimmune diseases or compromised immune systems typically have lower levels of endorphins than those without autoimmunity or a lowered immune response. Due to the increase of endorphins triggered by Low Dose Naltrexone, we believe that LDN is a safe and possibly helpful therapy for these individuals. See the Science Page for more information.

In general, Low Dose Naltrexone should not be used by anyone taking opioids, such as Codeine, Hydrocodone, Fentanyl, Hydromorphone, Meperidine, Methadone, Morphine, Oxycodone, or Oxycontin. Because Naltrexone and prescription opioids bind to the opioid receptors, they can render one another ineffective, or worse, cause opioid withdrawal syndrome. LDN should be avoided in people with significantly impaired kidney or liver function.

If you are on thyroid medication, you may need to monitor your thyroid levels more closely as you start LDN. If you develop symptoms of hyperthyroidism while taking LDN, such as heart racing, increased anxiety, restlessness, or trouble sleeping, please stop LDN and talk to the provider who prescribes your thyroid medication.

Other conditions that require a modified protocol or require further consideration prior to use include Lyme Disease or other Chronic Infections (EBV, CMS, Bebesosis, Borellia, etc.), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome/Disease (MCAS/MCAD), and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS). A modified protocol or further consideration also applies to multiple chemical sensitivities or drug allergies (3 or more), mold or black mold illness or exposure, and mental illness (e.g. schizophrenia).

To derive the biggest benefit from LDN studies indicate it should be taken over an extended period. The longer a member takes LDN, the better it has been shown to “push back” diseases of aging, according to several research studies in both humans and lab animals (see our Science page).

Some benefits from LDN, such as increased energy and sleep quality and decreased pain, are realized relatively quickly, while others, such as cancer or heart disease reduction, may never be “felt” (i.e. you won’t know that tumors or blocked arteries have been prevented if they never develop).

Compounded Rapamycin may be less potent than Generic Rapamycin, which could lead to reduced side effects as well as reduced absorption or bioavailability. For this reason, Compounded Rapamycin is typically prescribed at higher doses than Generic Rapamycin.

Depending on your state’s regulations, one or both options may be available to you. If only one option is available to you, then we must comply with your state’s regulations and only consider the available option. Compounded Rapamycin is typically less potent than Generic Rapamycin. That means Compounded Rapamycin may have a reduced risk of side effects. Those who are scheduled to undergo major surgery, chemotherapy or immunosuppressant therapy for a transplant within the next 6 months are also considered to have risk factors that could prevent your approval. Other exclusion criteria include: chronic infection (such as HIV/AIDS, Lyme disease, etc.); any primary or secondary immune dysfunction or deficiency, and allergy to Rapamycin.

Our providers may not currently be open to discussing Rapamycin enrollment with women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.

Side effects of Rapamycin are generally mild, especially if taken in lower doses. The most common side effect is stomatitis (mouth ulcers). Diarrhea and nausea are also common. More serious side effects include susceptibility to bacterial infections like pneumonia, but these are usually reported in transplant recipients taking Rapamycin at higher doses.

Rapamycin was the first name given to the compound isolated on Easter Island (for its native name, Rapa Nui), but the first name given to Rapamycin medications was Sirolimus. As such, there seems to have been a bit of a schism in the scientific community regarding the correct nomenclature for this compound/medication. However, Rapamycin and Sirolimus are effectively interchangeable terms that mean the same thing.

Our medical team may be able to work with you, depending on your current dosage and the reasons you are taking it, but ultimately this is a discussion between you and your provider.

If you are taking a lower dose of Rapamycin that is similar to the dosages listed on our protocols, you may be eligible. Work with your assigned provider to confirm.

If you are taking a higher dose of Rapamycin (>15mg), our medical team will need to better understand why you are at these doses to determine if it is safe to transition you to the lower doses of our protocols.

All who enroll must be able to follow the same titration plan, regardless of whether you are currently prescribed Rapamycin, were previously enrolled in the PEARL trial, or have never taken Rapamycin before.

Metformin is not thought to drop blood sugar to dangerously low levels, a condition known as hypoglycemia. However, some people tolerate lower levels of blood sugar than others. For this reason, Metformin might cause some people to have symptoms of low blood sugar such as lightheadedness, nausea, and fatigue. Starting at a low dose and increasing slowly can help. In our experience, most people with a history of hypoglycemia can tolerate lower doses of Metformin.

Significant lactic acidosis is almost never seen in people who have properly functioning kidneys. Out of precaution, we ask that people stop taking Metformin at least 3 days before going for any kind of medical procedure or imaging that requires contrast (such as a CT scan). Ask the physician doing the procedure or ordering a test about Metformin to be sure.

People with pre-existing kidney problems may be at greater risk of lactic acidosis, regardless of dose.

Serious side effects for Metformin are very rare, making it among one of the safest prescription medications that are commonly prescribed. However, it should not be used by anybody who has an allergy to Metformin; anyone who has poor kidney function; or diabetics who are poorly controlled (unless closely supervised by their local provider). There are many situations where Metformin can be used, but with caution or at lower doses than typically prescribed. Our medical team takes all of these factors into account when reviewing requests for prescriptions.

There is no agreed upon “optimal dosing” for longevity. Some longevity experts take and recommend 1000mg per day. Others recommend 1500mg per day. The TAME trial will be looking at 1500mg per day. Some health goals, such as weight loss support, may even require higher doses for you to achieve your desired outcomes.

Typical dosage consists of two 500mg extended release (ER) pills per day. However, your actual dosage will be determined by a licensed medical professional after taking into account multiple factors, including your medical history, drug interactions, and age, as well as your overall health goals.

Our medical staff will balance these factors to determine the best target dose for you.

The benefits of Metformin include lower blood sugar levels, more stable energy throughout the day, and better glucose and insulin sensitivity, all of which can reduce our risk for age-related diseases. But these benefits may be hard to feel in our day-to-day lives.

After several months of taking Metformin, people may be able to notice some benefits on their own, including less appetite, more stable energy throughout the day, and better sleep.

People may also experience weight loss while taking Metformin, but the best weight loss results occur after at least 6 months of use, and usually at higher doses. Talk with your provider to see if increasing your dose is right for you.

To derive the biggest benefit from Metformin, studies indicate that it should be taken over an extended period. The longer a member takes Metformin, the better it has been shown to “push back” diseases of aging, according to several research studies in both humans and lab animals (see our Metformin Science section). 

Some benefits from Metformin, such as reduced appetite and lowered blood sugar control, can be felt and appreciated relatively quickly (especially with the help of a CGM); many members report feeling these benefits by the second check-in, or within 2-3 months.

Other benefits, such as reduced risk for cancer or heart disease, may never be “felt,” as these benefits are happening on a cellular level to prevent these conditions before they occur. In other words, we may never know that a tumor or blocked artery has been prevented if neither are able to develop.

Those taking Metformin primarily for weight loss benefits may have to take higher doses for a longer period of time. Talk with your provider to see if increasing your dose is right for you.

Some people cannot tolerate tablets and require liquid or topical versions. We do not currently offer liquid or topical Metformin.

Absolutely not! Our therapies are meant as an extra layer of protection. We strongly encourage our members to adopt a healthy lifestyle, including leveraging such practices as intermittent fasting, physical activity, stress reduction, etc. It is also important to look at other potentially helpful factors, including dietary supplements like resveratrol, vitamin D, and/or B12.

No. Metformin is FDA approved for people with Type 2 diabetes mellitus. This is the on-label indication for Metformin.

However, like many medications, Metformin is used off-label for conditions such as PCOS, obesity, and cancer. Once the FDA has approved a medication for one use, a provider can prescribe it in any way they see fit for their members. Metformin has been approved by the FDA to be studied specifically for human longevity as part of the TAME trial that started in 2020.

First, Metformin benefits and its mechanism of action have been studied much more extensively than Berberine. Second, as Berberine is a supplement, quality control and potency are not nearly as strictly controlled as Metformin which is distributed by a licensed, US-based pharmacy that is inspected and regulated by the FDA and state boards of pharmacy. Third, there might be overlap between Metformin and Berberine, but they have different mechanisms of action and have different benefits.

That depends largely on what dosage you’re receiving and how long you take Metformin.

The most commonly prescribed dosage of Metformin is 2 tabs (1000mg) per day. At these doses, many members won’t notice significant weight loss within 6-12 months. 

Studies that focus on doses between 1500mg and 2250mg per day have shown modest but consistent weight loss for people. At these doses, people may lose 3-12lbs (or 5-7% of their body weight) within 6-12 months. People may experience the lower ranges of weight loss within 2-3 months, while those with a higher BMI may achieve higher estimates of weight loss within a shorter period of time. Doses above 2000mg may also increase the incidence of side effects. 

These studies were done with immediate release (IR) Metformin, which is why we offer IR for weight loss. If you would prefer the extended release (ER) version, you can request a change with your care team.

If you’re taking Metformin primarily for weight loss, talk with your provider to see if increasing your dose is right for you. Adopting healthy lifestyle choices (such as regular exercise and a reduced calorie meal plan) may also help you achieve better weight loss outcomes while taking Metformin.

SCORED (Screening for Occult Renal Disease) is a clinical tool designed to help providers decide when to screen people for renal insufficiency, or kidney problems. 

Those taking the SCORED test will be asked 9 questions, such as your age range and gender, and whether you’re diabetic. Checking “Yes” to any question generates a certain number of points. Any score of 4 or more indicates that renal screening is necessary to assess kidney function.

If your provider recommends Metformin at a dose over 2000mg, they will also ask that you complete the SCORED assessment. People who score a 4 or more may be asked to complete additional blood work.

While Metformin is widely used in diabetes care and is also being studied for its potential longevity-related benefits, AgelessRx does not treat clinically diagnosed diseases and is not a replacement for an individual’s primary care provider.

An HbA1c above 7.5 may indicate a health condition that requires more comprehensive medical management. In these situations, our providers may determine that a member would be better served under a dedicated diabetes care plan with closer monitoring and ongoing care through the member’s primary care provider and other specialists.

Many of our users use Metformin as part of a broader longevity protocol alongside other treatments, such as NAD+, Rapamycin, Microdosing GLP-1, and Vitamin B12. Your care team will continue to monitor your progress and adjust your protocol over time.

Some research suggests Metformin may blunt certain exercise adaptations, particularly muscle gains from strength training, in some individuals. This effect isn’t universal and appears dose- and person-dependent. If you strength train regularly, mention this to your provider. Your dose and protocol can be adjusted based on your goals and how your body responds.

No. While Metformin is FDA-approved for type 2 diabetes, it is widely used off-label for its potential metabolic and longevity benefits in non-diabetic individuals. Research suggests Metformin may help support insulin sensitivity, cognitive function, heart health, and cellular health in people without diabetes.^{3 1 1}

The most commonly reported side effects of Metformin are gastrointestinal in nature and may include nausea, stomach upset, or diarrhea, particularly when first starting the medication. These side effects are often mild and may decrease over time as the body adjusts. Taking Metformin with food and starting at a lower dose may help reduce gastrointestinal discomfort.

Metformin is a prescription medication with over 60 years of safety data.³ Research suggests Metformin activates AMPK, an energy sensor inside cells.⁶ Think of it as flipping a switch that tells the body to burn stored energy, clean out cellular waste, also known as autophagy, and reduce inflammation.⁷ This may activate some of the same cellular pathways associated with calorie restriction and exercise, two of the most well-established longevity levers.⁸

While PT-141 is not FDA-approved to treat medical conditions, it is used clinically to support sexual health and arousal in appropriate users under medical supervision.

PT-141 activates melanocortin receptors in the brain associated with sexual motivation and arousal signaling. This may help enhance sexual interest, responsiveness, and satisfaction in some individuals.

Individual results vary, and benefits are not guaranteed. Some users may experience increased sexual desire and libido, improved arousal response, enhanced sexual satisfaction, and improved overall mood and motivation.

PT-141 typically begins working within 45-60 minutes. Response timing varies based on dose, metabolism, and individual user sensitivity.

Tadalafil is the generic form of Cialis, an FDA approved medication to treat erectile dysfunction in men since 2003. It is also FDA approved to treat enlarged prostate, a condition called benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), since 2011.

Tadalafil is the same active ingredient as found in branded Cialis. Tadalafil works by inhibiting phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) enzymes, which enhances erectile function by the release of nitric oxide (NO). It is offered as a daily or as needed medication; Tadalafil is only available with a prescription.

At higher doses (20mg/day or more), Tadalafil is also used in both men and women to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Tadalafil is the active ingredient used in Cialis and is the generic equivalent. As clinically evidenced, Tadalafil is just as safe and effective as branded Cialis; it works for the same amount of time and delivers the same lasting effects.

Taking Tadalafil daily at a lower daily dose (2.5mg or 5mg) reduces many common side effects and allows the freedom to be intimate on your own time without having to plan ahead.

The benefits go far beyond sexual health. When taken daily over the course of many years, Tadalafil may offer numerous longevity-enhancing benefits. Recent clinical research suggests that Tadalafil’s ability to improve blood flow may reduce the risk of heart disease and even lower the risk of dementia. These benefits stem from Tadalafil’s primary mechanism of action of improving blood flow.

As-needed tadalafil is dosed at 10mg and 20mg typically, but should only be taken no more frequently than once every other day. These higher, less-frequent doses are only used only for erectile dysfunction in men and are not expected to have much in the way of longevity benefits.

Tadalafil sets itself apart from other ED medications in three distinct ways.

First, it is the only ED medication available for daily use. This means you can be intimate at any time, rather than needing to take a pill from time to time, as needed, like other brands (e.g. Viagra).

Second, when taken as needed, a single dose can remain active up to 36 hours. Tadalafil is often referred to as “the weekend pill” because a single dose can remain active for up to 36 hours (whereas others, such as Viagra, remain active for only a few hours). Tadalafil provides the opportunity for spontaneity.

As with any drug product, there may be side effects. Generally, people who experience side effects usually get them within 12 to 24 hours after taking Tadalafil. Side effects usually resolve on their own within 48 hours.

The most common Tadalafil side effects are headache, indigestion, back and muscle pain, flushing, and stuffy nose.

Some more serious side effects have been reported. While rare, it is important to stop taking Tadalafil and contact your provider right away if you experience an erection that will not go away (priapism) or lasts longer than four hours, a sudden loss of vision in one or both eyes, a sudden decrease in hearing or hearing loss. Reducing health risks related to aging: The same clinical analysis cited above suggests that by fighting against cellular senescence, PDE5 inhibitors, such as Tadalafil, may also help to reduce health risks related to aging, such as heart hypertrophy, myocardial infarction, cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, cystic fibrosis, diabetes, obesity and metabolic syndrome.

Anti-inflammatory properties: Per this clinical study in Scientific Reports, “chronic inflammation plays an important role in BPH/LUTS (lower urinary tract symptoms) and contributes to the clinical progression of BPH-related symptoms… Tadalafil, but not sildenafil or vardenafil, reduces pro-inflammatory factors.”

Improved cognitive function: In this clinical study, researchers state: “Erectile dysfunction is commonly associated with depression, and treatment with PDE5 inhibitors improves cognitive functions and depression, in addition to erectile dysfunction. Therefore, treatment of BPH/LUTS-ED with Tadalafil could improve people’ quality of life and their cognitive functions.”

Improved heart health: In this clinical study, researchers cite support for PDE5 inhibitors, such as Tadalafil, “improved contractile function, reduced chamber dilatation and reduced LVH.” In other words, keeping the heart rate normal, increasing blood flow and the ability for the heart to supply the body with enough blood, and reducing blood pressure to decrease the heart’s workload.

Yes, Tadalafil is FDA approved to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). At different doses, it is also FDA approved to treat symptoms of BPH and pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Most side effects are mild and localized to the application site. Common side effects may include mild redness or irritation, dryness, temporary tingling or warmth, and increased skin sensitivity.

Less common but more serious reactions may include allergic reaction (rash, swelling, hives), contact dermatitis, worsening of inflammatory skin conditions, and/or infection if applied to open or broken skin.

Stop use and contact your provider if significant irritation or concerning symptoms occur. Seek immediate medical care for signs of a severe allergic reaction, difficulty breathing, or signs of infection.

Do not use this medication if you have a known allergy to copper peptides or formulation ingredients, known copper metabolism disorders (such as Wilson’s disease), active or untreated skin infection at the application site, have active or recent cancer, significant heart dysfunction, or if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant or breastfeed.

Speak with your provider before use if you have sensitive or reactive skin, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, chronic skin conditions, or any history of contact dermatitis. Please also discuss any recent cosmetic procedures, such as chemical peels, microneedling, or laser treatments, as well as the use of retinoids, exfoliating acids, or other active skincare treatments.

Many members report seeing benefits within 30 minutes to 1 hour of using the product. Dermatologists sometimes demonstrate this by applying our cream to one of their member’s eyes at the beginning of the appointment. At the end of the 30 minute appointment, they hand them a mirror and show them the difference. Most people see early results within 3-4 weeks, with more significant results after 8-10 weeks. If you are using Tretinoin as an acne treatment, noticeable results may take longer, between two to six months.

Most commonly, we prescribe a starting/initial prescription of 0.02%, working up to 0.05% upon first refill. In some cases, different strengths may be prescribed at the discretion of your provider. However, we typically do not recommend strengths over 0.05%, as higher concentrations (like 0.1%) are often too strong to properly treat wrinkles and come with exacerbated side effects: the 0.02% and 0.05% formulas offer the best balance of positive cosmetic outcomes while minimizing side effects.

You may experience itching, burning, redness, or peeling in the first days or weeks after starting Tretinoin. These are sometimes referred to as “retinoid reactions,” which are an initial skin response to retinoids like Tretinoin. 

Less common side effects may include edema (swelling), rash, skin hyperpigmentation (dark spots), and skin hypopigmentation (light spots).

If Tretinoin gets too close to your eye, it may cause a dry eye condition known as meibomian gland dysfunction/atrophy. Be careful to apply Tretinoin no further than your orbital bone (eye socket) to ensure that the medication stays out of your eye.

If you experience severe burning or rash, stop using Tretinoin and contact your care team.

Studies show that it’s safe to use Tretinoin over the long term, with some studies examining the effects of Tretinoin for as long as four years.

Though absorption from topical Tretinoin is minimal, we do not recommend using it during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to the theoretical risk of birth defects. Do not use Tretinoin if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to become pregnant, or unsure whether you are pregnant. Stop using Tretinoin immediately if you become pregnant.

Trazodone is a serotonin agonist and reuptake inhibitor (SARI) that is FDA approved as an antidepressant. In recent years, Trazodone has also developed a reputation as a potent sleep aid: when taken at low doses (25-100mg), Trazodone acts strongly as a serotonin agonist to produce a sedative effect that has been shown to potentially improve sleep onset and duration.

When compared to benzodiazepines and other sleep aids, Trazodone is non-habit-forming with less side effects. Trazodone also stands out for having a shorter half-life, and thus a lower risk of daytime drowsiness and side effects.

Trazodone blocks serotonin type 2 (5-HT2), histamine H1, and alpha-1 adrenergic receptors, which reduces neurotransmitters associated with arousal. Studies show that this results in a calming sedative effect that may induce and maintain high-quality sleep.

Studies show that Trazodone’s unique mechanism of action can produce a calming effect that may help you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer, while restoring healthy sleep patterns over time.

Studies also show that Trazodone may also help improve moods, reduce anxiety, and enhance cognitive function like memory recall and concentration.

Unlike other sleep aids, studies indicate Trazodone isn’t habit-forming or addictive, with a shorter half-life that also reduces the risk of side effects like grogginess.

The most common side effects of Trazodone are drowsiness, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and nausea. Most side effects are mild and go away within a week or two, as your body adjusts to the medication.

Some side effects of Trazodone may affect your ability to drive a vehicle, operate heavy machinery, and perform other tasks requiring concentration and coordination. Plan to stay home or arrange a ride for the first few days after starting Trazodone, until you’re sure you won’t be drowsy, dizzy, or fatigued after taking the medication.

The side effects of Trazodone are dose-dependent and may indicate that a particular dose is too high. If you find you cannot tolerate your current dose, talk to your provider, who may lower your dose by 25mg until your side effects resolve. If you cannot tolerate 25mg of Trazodone, consider taking an alternative sleep aid such as Tran-Q Sleep.

Trazodone can be taken by generally healthy adults who are at least 25 years old.

People taking MAOI medications or antidepressants should not take Trazodone, as the combination may increase the risk of serotonin syndrome. Do not take Trazodone within 14 days of discontinuing an MAOI medication or antidepressant.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant or breastfeed, do not take Trazodone.

Trazodone may not be appropriate for people with a history of heart, liver, or kidney conditions. People with compromised organ function may be at greater risk of side effects or increased complications with these organs.

Trazodone may also increase the risk of psychological side effects in younger people, and the risk of falling in older people.

The initial feeling of drowsiness normally occurs within 30-60 minutes after taking Trazodone. Clinical trials suggest that benefits like better sleep, improved memory recall, and enhanced concentration can be achieved within 4 weeks for most people. However, all people react uniquely to Trazodone, and results may vary. If you feel you’re not meeting your health goals on your prescribed dose, contact your care team to see if changing your target dose is right for you.

No, Trazodone is not habit-forming or addictive. However, Trazodone can cause a recurrence of side effects and sleep disturbances if you stop taking it suddenly. For this reason, most people should slowly wean off Trazodone before discontinuing the medication.

It is best to avoid alcohol while taking Trazodone. Alcohol can amplify the sedative effects of Trazodone, leading to increased drowsiness, dizziness, and impaired coordination. This combination may also negatively impact the quality of your sleep, reducing the restorative effects of the medication​.

Trazodone is safe for long-term use at low doses between 25-100mg. If you are approved for a prescription, your provider will reassess your prescription every 3-6 months to determine your ongoing eligibility based on your progress and health goals.

Trazodone can affect eating habits and make some people feel more or less hungry than usual. Though uncommon, some people may notice they slightly gain or lose weight as a result. Losing or gaining weight is not an intended effect of Trazodone. Do not take Trazodone expecting to see weight loss.

Most people can safely combine Trazodone with Tran-Q Sleep. However, you should always discuss this option with your provider before proceeding.

LP(a) is one of the most significant biomarkers of heart disease. Short for lipoprotein(a), LP(a) is a type of LDL particle that has an apo(a) protein on top of it. LDL is sometimes referred to as bad cholesterol, and our bodies try to clean as much LDL from our bodies as possible. Apo(a) acts like a mask, disguising LDL particles so they can’t be recognized by our cells, making them much harder to clear from our bloodstream. This means LP(a) particles are much more likely to stick around in the blood, get into blood vessel walls, and cause plaque formation, leading to conditions like atherosclerosis.

Missing recommended screening or ignoring symptoms could lead to a delayed diagnosis of cancer. Ask your healthcare provider about what cancer screening tests are right for you.

Other genetic tests, such as 23andMe, simply look at the genetic sequencing of an individual, which you have no control over.
