Here’s what we’ll cover in this blog post:
- What is the XPRIZE
- What is XPRIZE Healthspan
- The AgelessRx XPRIZE trial
- What comes next in the competition
What if getting older didn’t mean growing weaker. But stronger, sharper, and more resilient?
That’s not just our mission at AgelessRx—it’s also the bold vision behind XPRIZE Healthspan, a global competition pushing the boundaries of what’s possible for extending healthy longevity
XPRIZE recently announced 40 semifinalists for their inaugural healthspan competition, and AgelessRx is proud to be among them.
But what’s the XPRIZE, how is it helping to transform longevity science, and what does this mean for AgelessRx?
What Is the XPRIZE?
The XPRIZE isn’t just a prize or competition—it’s a nonprofit foundation dedicated to driving breakthroughs in science and technology. The goal? To solve humanity’s biggest challenges.
XPRIZE started over 30 years ago with the Ansari XPRIZE, a $10 million competition to encourage private spaceflight. In fact, XPRIZE was instrumental in the foundation of household names such as SpaceX.
Since then, the foundation has expanded to 30 different competitions, each focusing on a vital area of human development. As of 2025, these include competitions for environmental sustainability, education, literacy, and water scarcity. As the competition has grown, XPRIZE has continually spurred innovation and empowered new advances in the most impactful areas of science and technology.
Now, they’ve launched their inaugural XPRIZE Healthspan to inspire radical breakthroughs in longevity medicine. AgelessRx is one of many organizations leading the way.
What Is XPRIZE Healthspan?
XPRIZE Healthspan is a 7-year global competition with a $101 million prize purse. The goal? To revolutionize the way we approach human aging. So, how does the competition work?
Teams must and test therapeutic interventions in people aged 50-80. The target is to potentially restore muscle, cognitive, and immune function by at least 10 years, with the goal of improving these metrics to a state of an individual 20 years younger.
Out of more than 500 applicants, XPRIZE selected 40 teams to move forward into the semifinal trial phase—including AgelessRx.
The AgelessRx XPRIZE Trial
For the AgelessRx XPRIZE study, we’re exploring how combinations of longevity medications might work synergistically to improve healthspan.
Our study is a 3-month randomized controlled trial, with 20 participants, aged 60-80. We’ll randomly assigned a unique combination of the following longevity interventions:
Our Longevity Toolkit:
- Rapamycin
The leading longevity medication that has extended the lifespan of all species tested, Rapamycin has shown initial promise in the PEARL trial for improving muscle mass, while other studies demonstrated Rapamycin’s potential for boosting the human immune system. - Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN)
Animal models show that low doses of Naltrexone may extend lifespan and healthspan, while human trials show that LDN may address chronic pain, fatigue, and inflammation, as well as a host of autoimmune conditions. - Metformin
Beyond its demonstrated impact for improving metabolic health, Metformin may also reduce the risk of age-related diseases including Alzheimer’s, heart disease, and cancer. - B12 (tablet)
As we age, B12 absorption declines. But B12 is critical for protecting brain function and bone density, and aiding in DNA repair. Supplementing with B12 may support energy, cognition, and cellular health as we age, especially when combined with other longevity solutions. - Vitamin C
Though well known as a go-to preventative for colds, vitamin C does more than just enhance immune function: it helps reduce oxidative stress and protect telomeres, which are all key factors in slowing age-related decline. Higher blood levels of vitamin C are also associated with reduced mortality risk and may potentially extend lifespan. - Vitamin E
Vitamin E is another essential micronutrient that contributes to longevity by protecting cell membranes from oxidative damage and working in synergy with vitamin C to strengthen the body’s antioxidant defenses. - NAD+
NAD+ is essential for energy and cellular repair, but also declines as we age. Studies show that NAD+ may improve cognitive function and brain health. - Glutathione (GSH)
Like NAD+, Glutathione is also a naturally occurring molecule, but depletes with age. Glutathione may improve muscle recovery and performance, immune health, cognitive function, and a host of additional longevity markers in humans. - Infinite Longevity Support
The individual ingredients of Infinite Longevity Support may improve multiple aspects of lifespan and healthspan, including muscle, brain, and immune function.
This will mark one of the first controlled studies exploring these unique combinations, which may help build the framework for future aging trials.
But this is only the first step in the XPRIZE, meant to establish the safety and efficacy of our proposed trial.
What’s Next?
Once the 3-month trial is complete, XPRIZE judges will analyze the results and select 10 finalists.
From there, finalists will expand to a 1-year trial, once the safety and efficacy of their studies show promise in the semifinals. This will be a more traditional clinical trial, one meant to show which healthy longevity therapy can potentially improve muscle function, immune health, and cognitive ability to a state that’s at least 10 years younger.
Following a final judgement period, the final results—and the winner—will be announced by 2030.
In the meantime, the AgelessRx Applied Science Team will be diligently recruiting for the 3-month trial. If you’re 60-80 years old, live in the US, and ready to help change the future of aging, consider joining the trial. Participants will receive biometric testing, prescription therapies, Oura Rings, and more—all covered as part of their cooperation.
This is more than a scientific milestone—it’s a global call to action. It’s a wake-up call designed to shift the healthcare paradigm from simply treating age-related conditions to preventing them altogether.
This is a mission that drove the start of Agelessrx, and a mission we share with XPRIZE Healthspan. As we move through the competition, we’re not just chasing a prize—we’re shaping the future of human health.
